Paul's family ran a building company, but he decided to tread a different path. He left school at 18 to work in the retail trade in the trendy 70's Cook Shops in the commuter belt around London, by the age of 20 he was made a Director of the retail chain of 6 shops he worked for. Not content and seeing a bigger potential he set up his own retail operation at the age of 21, moving to the West Country to open his first store, this rapidly grew into an emporium and over years ended up with 2 very large stores selling up-market furnishings, fashions, giftware and cookware. One store had an 80 cover coffee shop and restaurant.
However a very expensive divorce and the recession at the start of the 90's forced the closure of these stores. This started a new chapter in his life for the search for a new business model. Paul found this with a USA Health product company, and set about building a distribution network for their products. This now has grown to over 50,000 registered agent in over 25 countries. Paul met Tricia while building this business as she was working for the Head Office in the UK. On one business trip with Tricia to South Africa, they both fell in love with Palm House, that has now become another business they operate. After some investment they have increased the turnover by 500% in 5 years. Paul is always on the lookout for the next opportunity to add another business to the group.
